Directions to Put-in-Bay

In order to get to the Commodore Resort and Put-in-Bay, you have a few options. You can fly to the island, take your own boat, or take one of the two ferries that serve Put-in-Bay. Taking a ferry to the island is the most common way to travel, and now we will give you directions to the two ferry services, The Jet Express, and Miller Ferry.

Directions to the Jet Express

Chicago, IL

I-90 East to OH-53 exit #91. Follow 53 North towards Port Clinton until you come to Harrison St.Turn left on Harrison and follow till the dead end and take a right. Our main parking lot will be on the left and you will see the office across the street.

Cincinnati, OH

Take I-75 North towards Dayton. Take US-6 exit # 179 and turn right on 6 east. Turn left on 53 and take 53 North towards Fremont/Port Clinton. Follow that road into town until you meet Harrison St. Turn left on Harrison and follow till the dead end and take a right. Our main parking lot will be on the left and you will see the office across the street.

Cleveland, OH

Take the Turnpike (80 West) to 250 West (#118). Turn left and take Rt. 2 west to exit 163, and turn left off exit ramp. Go through 5 lights and we will be around the corner after the 5th light.

Columbus, OH

Take 23 North to Rt. 98 North, which turns into 4 North at Bucyrus. Take Rt. 2 West to exit 163, and turn left off exit ramp. Go through 5 lights and we will be around the corner after the 5th light.

Detroit, MI

Take 75 South to the I-280 exit #208. Continue on I-280 South to Rt 2 exit #7 towards Oregon (East). From Route 2 take the Fremont exit 53 and go left which will take you into Port Clinton. Follow that road into town until you meet Harrison St. Turn left on Harrison and follow till the dead end and take a right. Our main parking lot will be on the left and you will see the office across the street.

Indianapolis, IN

Take 70 East to 75 North (exit #33B) towards Toledo. Take US-6 exit # 179 and turn right on 6 east. Turn left on 53 and take 53 North towards Fremont/Port Clinton. Follow that road into town until you meet Harrison St. Turn left on Harrison and follow till the dead end and take a right. Our main parking lot will be on the left and you will see the office across the street.

Pittsburgh, PA

Take 76 West (Pennsylvania Turnpike) to 80 West. Take the 250 West (#118). Turn left and take Rt. 2 west to exit 163, and turn left off exit ramp. Go through 5 lights and we will be around the corner after the 5th light.

Toledo, OH

Take Rte. 2 East to the Route 53 Fremont Exit and turn left (North), which will take you into Port Clinton. Follow that road into town until you meet Harrison St. Turn left on Harrison and follow till the dead end and take a right. Our main parking lot will be on the left and you will see the office across the street.

Directions to the Miller Ferry

• From Sandusky, Cleveland and East

  Follow Interstate 90 West to Route 2 West. Cross over Sandusky Bay Bridge, get in right lane, then exit onto Route 53 North / Catawba Is. Go straight north for 7 miles to the end of Route 53 North.

• From the Ohio Turnpike Heading West

  Take either Exit 118 North (Route 250) or Exit 110 North (Route 4), then onto Route 2 West. Cross over Sandusky Bay Bridge, get in right lane, then exit onto Route 53 North / Catawba Is. Go straight North for 7 miles to the end of Route 53 North.

• If you are coming from Cedar Point

  Follow Route 6 West to Route 2 West, cross the Sandusky Bay Bridge, then exit right onto Route 53 North / Catawba Is. Go straight North for 7 miles to the end of Route 53 North.

• If you are coming from Kalahari Resort

  Follow Route 250 North, exit left onto Route 2 West, cross the Sandusky Bay bridge then exit onto Route 53 North / Catawba Is. Go straight North for 7 miles to the end of Route 53 North.

• From Toledo and West

  Follow State Route 2 East then exit onto Route 53 North / Catawba Is. - the Lake Erie Islands. Follow Route 53 North to the end.

• From the Ohio Turnpike - Heading East

  Take Exit 91(Route 53), follow North to Route 2 East then exit onto Route 53 North / Catawba Is. - the Lake Erie Islands. Follow Route 53 North to the end.

• From Port Clinton
  There are two routes to reach the Miller Catawba Dock from Port Clinton.

  Take Route 163 (Perry Street, which runs along the lakefront) East to the intersection with Route 53 (you will pass a Wal-Mart on the right). Turn left onto Route 53 North, drive straight for 6 miles to the end of Catawba. 
  OR: Take Route 163 East to Sand Road, which becomes West Catawba Rd. Follow to the end. This is a scenic route.

• From Columbus

  Follow Route 23 North. Exit onto Route 4 North / Bucyrus. Exit onto Route 2 West, cross the Sandusky Bay Bridge. Then exit onto Route 53 North, follow to the end. 
  OR: Take Route 23 North. Exit onto Route 53 North / Fremont, follow North to Route 2 East then exit onto Route 53 North / Catawba Is. - the Lake Erie Islands. Follow Route 53 North to the end. 

• From Dayton and Cincinnati

  Follow Route 75 North to Route 6 East / Bowling Green. Follow Route 6 East to Route 53 North Fremont. Follow Route 53 North to Route 2 East then exit onto Route 53 North / Catawba Is. - the Lake Erie Islands. Follow Route 53 North to the end.
